Responsible Sales and Service of Alcohol and Age Restricted Products (Scotland)

Who should take this course?

This course is designed to help your workplace meet mandatory training requirements and operate legally under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. The course should be completed by all staff members who sell or serve alcohol for consumption on or off premises, to understand their main responsibilities under Scottish licensing law.

Important note for staff: Your manager and/or a Personal Licence Holder will help and support you to gain the essential knowledge required by the law. Remember to always put what you have learned into practice when selling and serving alcohol.

What does it cover?

This e-learning package covers sixteen specific topics required to meet the legal requirements of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, and is divided into six easy-to-manage modules, which include:

• Licensing law;
• Types of licenses required to sell alcohol;
• Licensing standards officers;
• Introduction to the operating plan and licensing conditions;
• Protection of children and prevention of underage sales;
• Social responsibility.

The e-learning course will take 2 hours to complete.

Important note for staff: A Personal Licence Holder will be required to sign in to the system, before you can begin your online course.
