Written with experienced first-aid trainers, our flexible online first aid course covers essential skills, helping learners respond quickly, confidently and effectively to emergencies.

Designed for businesses across all industries, the course supports progression towards the Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification through a blended learning approach and can replace 1 day of the 3-day course. On completion, learners receive a Highfield completion certificate.

To achieve the regulated Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF), learners must also complete practical training and assessment with an approved provider.

Become a competent workplace first aider with our first aid at work course

This online training course is designed to give learners the opportunity to undertake online first-aid training and go on to achieve the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) or First Aid at Work at SCQF level 6.

Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first-aider

As well as equipment use, casualty treatment, and record keeping

Assessing an incident

Learn about scene and primary surveys, and when to call for help

Managing an unresponsive casualty

Explore life support techniques including CPR, AED use and seizure response

Recognising and assisting a choking casualty

Recognise and treat choking casualties, blocked airways, and hypoxia effectively

External bleeding and shock

Treatments for wounds, bleeding, circulatory system and hypovolaemic shock

Minor injuries

Treat minor injuries including cuts, burns, splinters, contusions, and nosebleeds

Conducting a secondary survey

Learn effective casualty communication, key information gathering, and conducting secondary surveys

Administering first aid to a casualty with injuries

To their bones, muscles and joints

A casualty with

Head and spinal injuries, suspected chest injuries, burns and eye injuries, sudden poisoning or anaphylaxis, a major illness
